The list below shows the nickname of each bingo number with variants. Remember that no list is definitive and some nicknames may not make sense. If you are planning to make up a list of nicknames for use in a bingo hall or at home, choose the ones that most appeal to you.
Bingo play using nicknames persisted in British Bingo halls until faster computer draws replaced air-blown balls. This is a way of announcing or repeating the Bingo number drawn in a humorous way. In a crowded, noisy room, it also helps to confirm the number called. Source: https://shakebox.org/bingo-numbers-nicknames/ The bingo game starts with the traditional call to attention: “Eyes Down”.

You probably need to take your shoes off If they just have a curtain around an area And it's just the same type of flooring going all the way through then you might be okay leaving your shoes on But I'd say most often you need to take them off.
So if you're unsure, maybe just look at someone and point at your shoes They'll probably know what you're asking I'm sure that lots of people ask that If you're unsure I would say to take them off to be safe One other thing about changing rooms is you'll find this little white face mask thingy inside of your changing room latest casino bonuses. That is to put over your face if you're going to try a shirt on so that your makeup doesn't rub off on the shirt So it's just like a white bag thing that you put over your face It feels so dumb I know!! (sometimes I don't do it...) You put it on your head and then you put your shirt on So that you don't get the makeup on it That's pretty cool, it's annoying as hell, but it's cool So that's what that is! So I don't actually go to clubs or anything so I haven't experienced this myself But word on the street! The cool people say! If you are walking along a street full of host clubs, kyabakura etc So like Roppongi, or Shinjuku... Kabukicho If they have people on the street who are trying to pull you into the club then that is supposed to be like not a good place to go into It's not the same if a host is out on the street trying to attract customers But if someone is actually trying to pull you in Then a lot of those are kinda scammy Like they will give you a really high cover charge, like $100 And then they'll force you to pay it before you can leave So be kinda careful if you're gonna go to a place like that Maybe try to go with friends who have been there before Try to find a place that has a good reputation Yeah, good reviews online or something Don't go randomly into clubs because some of them are pretty pricey Okay this should probably be #1 Conbinis in Japan are the best thing ever!!! Conbini is short for convenience store Because it's convenient! But like SUPER convenient! Not like convenience stores back in Canada that suck Japanese convenience stores have everything! Literally everything. Snacks, clothing... If you like spilled some food on your shirt and you need a new shirt they sell tank tops or collared shirts They even sell hair dye! Because if Japanese people have coloured hair and they have to run to an interview or something or a business meeting that popped up and they need to colour their hair back to the original colour they'll sell black hair dye in the convenience store You can mail packages! Yeah! They have a post service You can buy concert tickets You can pay your bills at convenience stores It's ridiculous, you can do anything Honestly just think of something you need to do, you can probably do it there 7-11, Sunkus, Family Mart... Lawson They're all good! Everybody has their favourite conbini LIke 7-11 has the best desserts, or Lawson has the best fried food Family Mart fried chicken~~ Each one kinda has it's own specialty but they're all really good If you're in need or something, just look for a convenience store and they are everywhere, literally everywhere so you'll be able to find one Alright if you have a foreign bank card, debit card And you're looking to withdraw money You can do that from a 7-11 ATM, a Citibank ATM or the post office ATMs Those are the 3 places that often accept foreign cards I'm not saying that they will accept all of them, but they will accept many of them Many convenience stores will not accept foreign cards whatsoever. They only accept a few types of Japanese cards even But 7-11 is a lifesaver They'll accept everything they're really awesome So look for a 7-11, a Citibank or a post office and you should be okay I hope those were some useful tips for you! I wish you the best on your trip to Japan, I hope you have an awesome time! If there's anything else that you're really curious about leave a comment down below and I will try to answer them If you have any other tips you would like to leave, please do that in the comments Thanks for watching guys! And make sure to go check out Rachel's channel if you are not already subscribed to her Lots of very useful videos about Japan over there as well So definitely do that Bye guys! But there is one function on it that is very awesome and very accurate That is the camera function If you open up Google translate You will see a little camera picture here And if you click the camera It will turn into a camera, and you can find some kanji Let's find some kanji that we can't read Oh yeah there we go!
So you're in the toy store, and you're wondering what the heck this is So what you do is take a picture of the Japanese writing on the box And it will pick up any kanji that it sees in the picture and you can just highlight with your finger the ones that you want it to read And it will give you the English for it! Refridgerator! Isn't that so cool? With old school kanji apps you had to write them out with your finger while looking at it or you had to look through a list of kanji to find the correct one But with this all you have to do is take a picture So cool! Yeah it's very very awesome I use this all the time Really reccomend that not only for kanji, but if you can't read hiragana or katakana It will translate that for you as well So download Google translate and use the camera function. So there are 3 potential problems you could run into with bathrooms here The most common is that they don't have soap when you're washing your hands. So I always carry a bottle of hand sanitizer around with me because I get sick really easily So I always wanna wash my hands Especially before I eat #2 is they might not have a way to dry your hands That's also very common So some people carry handkerchiefs around with them Like old times, handkerchiefs Or like a little face cloth So you can dry your hands after you use the bathroom You'll see that facecloths are sold EVERYWHERE And you're probably wondering WHY ARE THERE SO MANY FACE CLOTHS It's because people keep them in their bags so they can dry their hands I don't I'm not that crazy, I just... That works too And the third problem, which is quite rare but does happen occasionally. There are some toilets that don't have toilet paper Oh I've never come across one of those I've come across 2 so far Yikes I think one was in the Nagoya subway station I think they had a problem with people stealing the toilet paper So they got rid of it. They might have it now, it was a long time ago Another one was in Akita prefecture We were driving around the backroads and found an outhouse at the bus stop, and there was no toilet paper Not like they ran outta toilet paper, there was no place to put toilet paper But that's not very common But just in case, bring tissues or something But the hand thing is very common You'll very rarely see paper towels and sometimes you'll see the hand driers Okay one thing that is shopping related If you're going to try on clothes, most likely you will have to take your shoes off before entering the change room. You'll be able to tell if you need to because they'll have a little step up to go into the change room If there's a step, that always means you need to take your shoes off It's usually carpeted too Yeah there'll be a carpet If it looks nice and clean. Or if you're paying for admission to something Like a shrine, it probably won't take a credit card I would say about 70% of the places I go don't accept credit cards Even ones that you would really think would Like a big department store or something You'll be surprised, so always have cash on you for sure So Tokyo has 2 main airports Narita and Haneda airport Narita airport is actually located in Chiba prefecture Which is the prefecture beside Tokyo And it takes quite a while to get into Tokyo from Narita airport So if possible...
It's kinda rare because most planes do go to Narita if you're coming from outside of Japan But if you can get a flight that comes into Haneda, I'd say go with that one It's a lot easier You'll be able to get into downtown Tokyo a lot quicker Always go for Haneda if you can A cool thing about Japan is that there's basically no tipping here So you don't have to worry when you go to a restaurant, you don't leave a tip You don't leave a tip for taxi drivers or... anything I can't think of any instance where you would be expected to leave a tip I've never been in a situation where I've had to leave a tip here So don't worry about it! Hair dressers, taxis, pizza man Nothing, literally. Just remember no tipping in Japan! And you'll be fine Even if you feel like you wanna leave a tip, I don't think you should Even if you feel like "This person was really awesome, I wanna give them a bonus!" They'll just feel awkward And they'll come running outside to give it back to you So it's probably better not to do it even if you really want to Because they just don't really understand the tipping culture here They assume you lost it or something And I think they feel really weird about trying to keep it Exactly, even if you try to explain to them If you just say thank you, you are above most customers That's so true! No one says thank you so they'll really appreciate that I find that really awkward When you're in the grocery store and they ring in your groceries and hand them to you or give you your change or something Most people just take it And I'm always like ah, thank you! So seriously, if you just say arigatou gozaimasu everytime something happens They're happy They'll know that you appreciate their service . This'll probably be a really helpful one for lots of you guys I know that it's come in very handy for me Google Translate! I know it has a horrible reputation, and you guys are all thinking but it sucks! and it translates things horribly! It really does. We'Re alive, hey how you guys doing welcome to the show it's Monday June, the 4th 2018 welcome back to traveling with Bruce I'm your host Bruce you've been good to see you guys. I hope you had a good weekend and hope your weather's doing all right here in Creston. I went to Costco with the wife, Jen Jennifer Aniston look-alike wife and I went to Costco Saturday afternoon after the show and got myself a chicken baked. She got herself a hot dog and even had room for a bit of a very very Sunday and that was awful. Darn delicious I got ta tell you, picked up some cheap gas, relatively speaking to 97.9 at Costco in Idaho. What'S gas in your hometown kind of curious? What'S the price of gasoline, where you guys live cuz 297 in Coeur, d'Alene Costco, here in Creston 135, a liter Canadian ice about a buck, a liter American, so that's 370 at least for a US gallon. Actually, I probably a little more net yeah, probably Oh, 380, a gallon u.s, so we're saving a dollar a gallon, practically almost like just going down south unbelievable https://www.casinoslots.co.nz/paypal-casino . So many folks, a crest and frosted warrior five minutes away and we'll head to Bonners Ferry or we'll go down to Coeur d'Alene or if we have shopping to do. You know we'll make a little loop head to Spokane pick up stuff and do some shopping at the big US retail outlets and come on back to Canada with the stop and a full thing. Yes, so uh yeah! That'S how we that's how we roll up here. Uh west from here Vancouver British Columbia. Oh, my gosh Vancouverites they're famous for doing that ton of folks from Vancouver every weekend or during the week, if the retired they just head south across the border down to the Seattle area and shop til they drop, and I can tell you the Seattle's economy depends On Canadians coming down to make up those dollars because we just add to the add to the gravy that they're already making, we just add to it's fantastic. But that's the way it goes with our dollars and our exchange rates and different taxes and everything else to different countries to different ways of doing business. Anyway, the channel the channel the channel we're plugging right along here we got twenty one hundred and twenty subscribers now something like that inching along happy to see happy to see that happening. Although I just had a message from one of my subscribers telling me that he had to Risa by went there and he's not a subscriber all of a sudden, he was a subscriber now he's not he just recent know. What'S going on, I cannot tell you what the glitches are. Sometimes, that is the weirdest thing. If you folks are watching this channel any of you folks, you want to become a subscriber, it's free, there's a button right there. That'S on. I think all the time, little red one and then there's a button over here - that subscribe button and beside it - is a little bell icon. If you click on that after you subscribe, you'll get notifications every time I new do a new video or any time I go live. Sometimes I go live at a spur of the moment. If there's something going on in the cruise business, I'll just pop on the camera and just start talking, so you want to get an alert. What'S going on hit the bell icon subscribe to the channel and follow we'll go from there. I did a video on Saturday morning. I pop one up Jeremy. I don't do that, but I did one Saturday morning and I was talking about the delight of eating ice cream on a cruise as opposed to eating ice cream on land. It just tastes better when you're on a cruise, I think, and then I happened to mention the an item in the video that is quite a popular item for cruisers, whether you're brand new or whether you've been cruising for years. The the packing for a cruise game has completely changed in the last 10 years. The packing for anything, has completely changed. I don't care if you're going on a business trip for a day a week, you go into a conference somewhere you're going on a pleasurable holiday by air, to you know, to New York City or to London, England repairs whether you're hiking with a backpack, whether you're Taking the RV out for the weekend, you go on camping, you name it thinking motorbike dealt with saddlebags packing has completely been revolutionized in the last couple of years, and the one item that has really picked up are these cubes. These packing cubes, some of you folks, were telling me about packing cubes the last couple months. Every time I bring up the subject of how do you pack for a cruise? What'S the best thing to do? Some of you folks are saying packing. Cubes Bruce they're just fantastic. Well, I highlighted a packing cube product in that video. I think just six pieces in this thing and I put a link to my to my Amazon page for the item. Oh, I got all kinds of comments. Just fantastic comments. People love this. I love. This is fantastic thanks for mentioning it and I tweeted it and I put it on Instagram and all the likes and the follows, and oh my gosh, it's quite something so yeah. It looks like a pretty good product. Alright, six different six different pieces, different sizes and you pack, the cubes, the cubes up, one - would say your underwear one say with your your tops and and your pants and make the other one my shoes, another one, might have all your electronics, your chargers, cables. The cords, the camera that OS and some of these cubes go in your carry-on. Some of these cubes go in your luggage and when you get to where you're going, you just open up your your luggage, opener up and instead of having clothing in there all over the place and you're trying to figure out. Where are my socks and you're digging through your suitcase, rather than unpacking the whole thing you're just taking up the cubes, so you know that this cube right here has got the underwear and socks in it. You just zip it open and pull up pull out your side. This cube has got your bathroom stuff, take it to the bathroom unpack it. There leave the cube there in the bathroom. So when you're done with your trip, you repack the cute, bring it back. Your suitcase talk about clean, efficient and with clothing. You can carry 30 % more stuff, so Wow they have a mesh on the top. So you can see what's inside there, no mystery, so you have to play the game of all its unzip and peek and unzip. Now do you think just take a look on this through the mesh and you know: what's in there talk about convenient Wow, my wife thinks these are fantastic. I think Jen's gonna make me buy some of these haha. So there you go pretty cool item or we're going on a trip and certainly for the cruise, because in a cabin we all know we don't have a lot of room in a cabin to to unpack and stretch out. So these these cubes are smart as a whip. You open the suitcase the cubes out, put the suitcase under the bed. It'S gone now you just deal with the cubes one in this drawer, one in that drawer, one in the bathroom one. On top of the counter for your electronics you're in business, fantastic, I always I did that on Saturday and got some nice responses. If you get a chance to check out the video with the ice cream cone, I guess I talked about ice cream on a good ship and I got some nice video in there too. Downtown's staff read and discussed Jodi Picoult's 2006 novel "Nineteen Minutes," about a school shooting sparked by bullying.
Here are other ways Downtown improved its environment to combat bullying: • Adults are visible as much as possible to eliminate opportunities for mischief. • Keeping the building well-maintained is a priority. When staff members see something in disrepair, they immediately make a request to fix it. • The first two weeks of school each year, teachers are required to explain to their students why those chose to become teachers. "Most teachers really have a compelling story," Douglass said. "I feel that, especially with the older kids, if children can see you in a light other than as a teacher, if they hear that you also had a struggle that you overcame, I just think it helps build connections with them." • During those first two weeks, teachers also are required to play icebreaker games with their students so they learn more about each other. "Whey they actually know one another," Douglass said, "that acts like an inoculation against the bullying. So when you know my favorite color, my favorite movie, my favorite food, I'm more of a person to you. That also helps teachers design lessons around themes that the students are passionate about." • Downtown's cafeteria manager started a Celebrity Server program, where well-known local folks visit the school, help serve breakfast or lunch and interact with the students. "The kids notice, 'Gee, all of these people who come to see us went to college, so maybe that's something I want to do too,'" Douglass said. • Higher Learning Day allows Downtown students to leave their school uniform at home and wear their favorite college gear instead. "It helps our kids visualize what their lives can be," Douglass said. "Oftentimes, children make poor choices if they haven't imagined a myriad of positive outcomes, if they just see the sad outcomes right around them at home. So this helps them make better day-to-day choices and treat themselves with respect and others with respect." • TSYS, a Partner in Education, helped Downtown start its Ready to Race program, in which classes earn rewards for good behavior. • Downtown created a form for its staff to use when investigating a bullying allegation, so each case is handled with the same procedure. "We're trying to recognize patterns," Douglass said. • The school empowers bystanders. "If someone laughs and adds to the insult, they are bullying too," Douglass said. "So our children know to say, 'You can't do that. That's bullying. We don't do that here.'" All of which impresses school district officials, such as Blackwell, when a principal is dedicated to doing what it takes to combat bullying. "The person in the building makes a difference, having ownership of the duties and responsibilities," he said. "I truly believe all of our principals care about safety and the care of kids, but there are various degrees." It's easy for Darlene Halstead to encourage her TSYS colleagues to cross First Avenue and volunteer at Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy. The executive assistant to CEO and chairman Phil Tomlinon just tells them, "If you walk in there, you're going to feel like a rock star. Those kids are like, 'It's TSYS! It's TSYS!' They get so excited."
They have good reasons. More than 250 TSYS employees not only have lifted the school's spirit, but the Downtown staff credits their partnership with helping boost its test scores, thanks to their Ready to Race program. Downtown and TSYS presented an overview of R2R at one of the 24 breakout sessions Friday during the Greater Columbus Partners in Education 2013 Kickoff Conference in the Columbus Convention & Trade Center. In the past year, Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy has reduced its number of reported bullying cases more than any other Muscogee County public school, according to district data. Downtown had the most bullying cases in the district in 2011-12, with 56, but decreased that number in 2012-13 to nine, as of last month. Three Muscogee County schools went from double-digit bullying incidents last school year to zero this year with a month of school remaining-- Veterans Memorial Middle from 26, Spencer High from 16, and Early College Academy from 12. Overall, the district's total number of reported bullying incidents has dropped about 46 percent -- from 623 in 2011-2012 to 335 in the current school year.Elementary schools and high schools have cut their number of bullying incidents roughly in half since the 2011-2012 school year -- high schools dropping from 113 to 56 incidents, and elementary schools from 228 to 108.Reducing bullying remains a struggle in middle schools, where the total number of bullying incidents has dropped slightly, from 182 to 171, with several weeks remaining on the school calendar. At Downtown Elementary, reducing bullying seems to have started with planting seeds. Two years ago, after each Downtown class had begun its own garden, principal Tonya Douglass looked for students to help plant the principal's garden. She figured gathering six notorious bullies together might be a good idea. These students didn't know why they were chosen, but they learned they could use their words and actions for a positive purpose. These bullies, whose ugly behavior lowered the esteem of fellow students, got down on their knees with Douglass to grow some beauty. They planted seeds of respect along with the pansies and snapdragons and violas. For 15-20 minutes three times a week, they nurtured their garden and they let down their tough-guy guards. "They would talk to the plants so gently, so sweetly," Douglass said. "The other kids they were mean to weren't out there. I think if they were and they had an audience, they wouldn't have done that." Through a request under the state's Open Records Act, the Ledger-Enquirer received the number of bullying cases reported at each Muscogee County school in 2011-12 and this year, as of last month. This school year, Hannan Elementary Magnet Academy has reported 17 bullying cases, the most among elementary schools, but that number has dropped considerably, from 43 last year. The middle school and high school with the most bullying incidents have actually seen an increase since last year: Eddy has 36 reported bullying incidents, up from 34, and Carver has 16, up from 10. Douglass, in her fourth year as Downtown's principal, doesn't have statistics that show whether the gardening prompted those bullies to decrease their destructive behavior, but she is convinced the school-wide project is an example of a larger lesson: The more reasons students have to play a part, the fewer chances they have to pull apart."They find something in common," Douglass said. "Those little hands, they are caring and cooperating. They are invested and they love it. Activities like that cause us to further bond and appreciate one another." Garry McGiboney, associate state superintendent for policy at the Georgia Department of Education, has worked 38 years in education, including 10 years as a school psychologist in DeKalb County. He considers the Downtown gardening project the type of activity that should bloom at every school. "We are in a learning environment, so we teach things like reading and writing and math," McGiboney said, "but we also have to teach pro-social behavior. State perspective Bullying is among the 28 categories of discipline the state's public schools are required to report to the Georgia Department of Education, which uploads the data to the U.S. Department of Education, McGiboney said. But bullying has been a required category in the state for only two school years. Some schools used to report bullying as "violence" or "simple battery" or not at all, McGiboney said, before the Georgia Legislature changed the state law in 2010. McGiboney praised schools such as Downtown for being proactive. "Instead of just reacting to bullying, they encourage prevention of bullying by viewing the entire school climate," he said. "We have found in research that in schools with the positive behavior intervention support their discipline referrals have dropped significantly." 'Every single day' Despite the school's success in reducing bullying, Douglass says she insists that her staff, students and parents remain vigilant. "It really is a monster we fight every single day," she said. Douglass shines light on the dark code of silence against "snitching." "Sometimes, our children come from a culture where they don't snitch," she said. "I tell them, 'I understand in your neighborhood those might be the rules you have to live by, but, in this school, you can't live by that rule.'" |
